چکیده

In a preeeding paper, we demonstrated the oncogenicity of the infectious canine hepatitis (ICH) virus in newborn hamsters (KINJo et al., 1968). Although neither the primary tumors induced in hamsters by the ICH virus or the transplanted tumors contained dernonstrable infectious virus, they did, however contain an ICH virus specific tumor antigen. Also the tumor-bearing animals developed complement fixation (CF) antibodies, reactive to both the heinologous tumor antigep and the ICH virus tissue culture T antigen (neoantigen). The data suggested that viral genome which codes for the production of virus specific tumor antigen must be incorporated somehow in the chromosome network of such virus free tumor cells, Attempts were made by the authors to establish cell ]lnes from the ICH virusinduced hamster tumors and from transplanted tumors. We then attempted to characterize the cells produclng the tumor antigen in our in vitro system. This report describes the cultural behavior, oncogenicity and antigen-produeing ability

Rescue of the defective genome of Moloney sarcoma virus from a noninfectious hamster tumor and the production of pseudotype sarcoma viruses with various murine leukemia viruses.

Hartley and Rowel reported that the in vitro focus-forming effects of Moloney sarcoma virus (MSV)2 I depended on the presence in the same cells of two virus particles, a defective i\ISV particle and a fully infectious Moloney leukemia particle. Superinfection with additional Moloney leukemia virus potentiated focus formation by MSV, converting a "two-hit" dose response curve to a one-hit curve;...

Tumor induction by simian adenovirus 30 and establishment of tumor cell lines.

Simian aclenovirus 30 \vas found capable of inducing locally invasive subcutaneous neoplasms in hamsters at the site of inoc ulation. Tumors occurred with an incidence of 2 percent and were palpable between 61 and 101 days after subcutaneous in jection of the virus. Neither neoplasms nor neurologic dysfunc tion developed when the virus was introduced intraperitoneally or intraeerebrally. Comple...
